Texas Tech Black Docs are in need of help with supporting their first Hoop for Health event. Hoop for Health is a charity basketball tournament with a mission to raise funds for a local non-profit organization that aligns with our values of educating and supporting underrepresented minorities in the El Paso community. A family event for all, Hoop for Health will consist of a basketball tournament accompanied by a fair consisting of black vendors throughout the area, a health component with nursing, dental, and medical students and faculty providing health screenings, and lastly food trucks and a children’s area for games. We are currently accepting admissions for basketball teams, vendors, and food trucks! If you know anyone who may be interested, please feel free to pass this information along. Basketball teams are $100 for teams of 8 (additional $20/player, 12 players max). All experience levels welcomed! The vendor fee is $25.
All proceeds will go back to the community to support local organizations in advancing the underserved, minority communities of El Paso.
