2025 Scholarship Awards – Sigma Tau Chapter in conjunction with the Sigma Tau Community Uplift Foundation

Purpose:
To provide a summary of scholarships awarded by Sigma Tau Chapter, in conjunction with the Sigma Tau Community Uplift Foundation, as part of its continued commitment to educational advancement and community uplift.

Background:
Each year, Sigma Tau and its charitable arm, the Sigma Tau Community Uplift Foundation, recognize outstanding students for their academic achievement, leadership potential, and commitment to service. In 2025, the organizations proudly awarded a total of $11,563 in scholarships to deserving recipients.

James J. Crouch Memorial Scholarship
Recipient: Ms. Johanna Serrano
Award Amount: $2,500

Purpose:
Honoring the memory of James J. Crouch, this scholarship is awarded to a student committed to leadership and educational achievement.

Hoyt L. Ward Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Recipient: Ms. Joneeah Hudson
Award Amount: $2,000

Purpose: 
Honoring the legacy of Hoyt L. Ward Sr., this scholarship supports students demonstrating leadership and educational achievement.

Sigma Tau Chapter Scholarship
Recipient: Ms. Careena Pena
Award Amount: $2,013

Purpose:
Awarded to a student who exemplifies the values of scholarship, perseverance, and excellence.

Perfect Vision Scholarship
Recipient: Mr. Sergio Cordova
Award Amount: $1,300

Purpose: 
Created to mark the beginning of a new decade, this scholarship supports students with a clear vision for academic and professional success.

Legacy Scholarships
Recipients: Four Students

  • Jovannie Lewis
  • Yuri Henderson
  • Rhianna Wright
  • Aaron James Allsop

Award Amount: $750
Purpose:
These scholarships recognize students who are part of a legacy of excellence and community involvement. These scholarships are presented to the children of Brothers.

Total Scholarships Awarded: $11,563

Total Recipients: 8 students

Conclusion: Sigma Tau Chapter and the Sigma Tau Community Uplift Foundation remain committed to fostering educational opportunities for youth in our community. These scholarship awards reflect the organizations’ dedication to academic excellence, leadership development, and service. The 2025 recipients exemplify the promise of tomorrow’s leaders.
